Down the TBR Hole #20

July 10, 2017 Books/Writing 4

down the tbr hole

Holy crap, it’s been awhile! I’m trying to get back into this one, at the very least. I’ve started to add books again so it’s definitely time to continue going through the old ones.

Time to wield the axe again – I’m mercilessly culling my TBR list on GoodReads with the amazing Down the TBR Hole meme by Lia at Lost in a Story (who has, somehow, already made it completely through his own TBR)!

Most of you probably know this feeling. Your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well, that’s going to change!

It works like this:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books.
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

When I started this series of posts, I had 604 books on my TBR list. As of today, I have…645. HO.LY. I’ve added more than I thought! All that progress I thought I had made…haha. 😛 Anyway, as usual covers link to GoodReads.

You are on #20 and I haven’t done my second one! Bwhahaha. I try to keep my to-read GR shelf under 300 and I think I am at 346 now, ugh. I bought a hardcover of Bellman and Black at a dollar store! I loved The Thirteenth Tale, but people keep telling me Bellman and Black was awful. We shall see. I guess that Lions Of Al-Rassan is some kind of a classic. It was an ebook $1.99 special in an email I get of older titles that are on sale. I had never heard of it though. 🙂
